I’m in love with the belt I’m wearing, it’s by Swanky Belts – the coolest online boutique filled with amazingly chic custom belts. I’m wearing the large oyster shell buckle with the platinum metallic leather strap. I chose this combo because of it’s versatility and it’s the perfect color combo for spring and summer. I love it paired with light shades of denim, gray denim, white denim, and even with a chic pair of cut-offs. It would look amazing with an all white ensemble as well. I think this belt really ties any outfit together and will take your look to next level. I highly suggest adding one of these amazingly chic swanky belts to your wardrobe, they are versatile, effortless and cool, and will really add that extra pop to any look!
We visited one of our all time favorite Dallas boutiques, Calypso, which is located in Preston Center. A beautiful store that carries gorgeous caftans, beaded dresses, casual denim lines such as AG and McGuire, and lots of fun boho fringe pieces and fun accessories! We decided to go with an all white look because it’s so on trend right now, you just can’t go wrong with an all white ensemble, it’s fresh, chic and sophisticated! The key when wearing all whiteis to play up your accessories – my platform wooden heels are my absolute favorite shoe in my closet at the moment! I love them paired with flare jeans, rolled skinnies (like in this post), maxi dresses, and even pencil skirts. They are super comfortable as well which is something I always look for (the older I get)…because the more comfortable they are the more I will wear them. My fringe bag is another accessory of mine that I couldn’t live without! It’s my favorite handbag in my closet and I carry it a ton! I have provided links to 2 of my favorite fringe bags in this post at different price points – the fringe bag is the perfect boho chic piece to add to your wardrobe. Happy Shopping!
Thank you for stopping by today! Have a blessed week!! XOXO!!
Well, I guess I just can’t stop wearing flares and fringe! I’m a huge fan of 70’s fashion and I’m so glad it has made such a hard come back! I love the flare jean because they are so flattering on nearly every body type. If your waist isn’t a part of the body that you like to accentuate then the mid-rise flare is the type of flare jean you should go with. The ones I’m wearing are mid-rise and are super comfortable and hold their shape! They are one of my favorite pairs of jeans in my closet!! There’s just the right amount of distressing on them, since I’m over 40 I feel like it’s okay for me to wear ripped denim as long as they aren’t too ripped. I always pair my ripped jeans with something a little more dressy to balance out the look. Flares are here to stay for a long while, so add a pair to your wardrobe, you’ll be glad you did!
Have a great weekend!! Thank you so much for stopping by today! XOXO!!
Looking for something different and fun to wear…look no further, the fringe skirt is the perfect piece to add to your wardrobe. 70’s fashion is coming back strong and this little fringe number fits right in. I would wear this look to brunch, a girls night out, or a date night. The color is the perfect neutral – it will go with a ton in any wardrobe. I found this one at Cusp that is a similar color and a fraction of the price.

I don’t wear patterns very often, however, occasionally I find one I really like. I found this cute top at Nordstrom and fell in love with the boho chic ikat pattern. It’s an easy effortless top to throw on with jeans or a chic pair of cutoffs. It’s pretty thin so on a really hot Dallas day, this top would be perfect. I wore it to my son’s lacrosse game the other day with white cutoffs and my comfy tkee flip flops – a super casual look that is perfect to wear on the weekends. This top is versatile and effortless – a great addition to any spring wardrobe. Happy Friday!!

I popped into Tootsies the other day and stumbled upon this chic denim pencil skirt by Citizens of Humanity. I tried it on and immediately fell in love with it, the fit is perfect, high rise and form fitting which really flatters your silhouette. Denim skirts are huge right now, in fact, denim anything is huge right now. I love the skirt because of it’s versatility – it can easily be dressed up or down depending on what you pair it with. Pair it with some cute wedges, a few layered necklaces and a fringe handbag for the perfect boho look for brunch on a sunny Saturday or a girls night on the town. To dress it up even more, pair it with some nude heels, a silk button down, and a metallic clutch – perfect look for a date night with your honey!
Thanks so much for reading my blog! I’m grateful for all of you! I hope all of you had a very blessed Easter!!
Ok, I’ll admit it – I’m a huge fan of the flare jean, and especially the high-rise flare. High rise jeans not only accentuate your waist, but they also hold everything in. As I said in one of my previous posts the flare jean is the most flattering jean on the market because it elongates you legs making you appear taller and slimmer. The high rise does this as well, since the waist line sits up higher it too makes your legs appear longer and leaner! The ones I am wearing are by J Brand and they are like 4 years old, but I’ve included 2 of my favorite flares in similar shades in this post. I’m also really into my fringe handbag – I love it! It goes with everything and is the perfect accessory to the 70’s fashion that’s coming back! Where ever I carry it I always get a ton of compliments. I would recommend investing in at least one pair of flare jeans and one fringe handbag this spring.
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter!! I’m thankful for all of you!! XOXO!!
I was beyond excited to be able to not only meet THE Charlotte Tilbury, but have an intimate make up and beauty tutorial with her and a few other bloggers. For those of you who haven’t heard of Charlotte, she is known as the most talented make-up artist in the business! She has done make-up for numerous celebrities such as Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Penelope Cruz, and Gwyneth Paltrow to name just a few. She has worked in the make-up industry for over 20 years and decided to come up with her own of make-up line which launched about a year ago. The only place in Dallas that her make up is sold is at Nordstrom in Northpark. She has the most amazing british accent – I loved listening to her talk about her fabulous line and what her personal favorites were that she couldn’t live without. Here’s a list of her favorite products and why she and so many of her celebrity clients can’t live without:
1.) The Clay Mask - she said she puts this mask on every morning, yes, every morning and it makes her skin smooth, soft, and shrinks her pores. If she skips a morning she said she can absolutely tell the difference!! I was sold, I bought the mask that day and have been using it ever since. My skin is brighter, smoother, and my make up seems to stay on better!
2.) The Magic Cream – this cream got it’s name because Charlotte came up with a special mix of creams that she used on her clients before applying their foundation. It gave the perfect amount of moisture and has anti-aging elements that make your skin look and feel fabulous! I’ve started using this myself as well and I can for sure tell a difference! My skin feels smoother and tighter and my foundation seems to go on better and stay on longer. This cream also sold out with in 6 minutes the first day is was available on line!
3.) Super Model Body Shimmer – She also said that we shouldn’t forget about the rest of our body! We spend so much time on our face that sometimes we forget about our legs and arms and chest. This body cream gives your legs and arms that perfect amount of dewey shimmer and a bit of color – it’s similar to a self tanner without the smell and it doesn’t rub off on your clothes either!!
4.) Eye Palettes – Her eye palettes are so amazing! I love them because they all come with 4 colors. She said the top two colors are for day time, add the third color on the bottom right for dusk time, and the fourth color on the bottom left for a fun night out on the town! Also, the top lightest color acts as a shadow base as well. I have been wearing her eye shadow now for a little over a month and I love it because it doesn’t rub off as the day goes on. My eye make-up looks the same at 6 pm as it did at 10 am right after I applied it! Another thing I love about her eye-shadow palettes is they tell you which eye palette you should use according to your eye color. She saw me and the first thing she said is that I should wear the “Uptown Girl” palette because it’s made for blue eyes.
5.) The Uptown Girl Set – She offers 13 different looks sold in sets. Each set comes with an eyeshadow palette, blush, lip stick, lip pencil, mascara, eye liner, lip gloss, and a make up bag. A great value and she lists the celebrities under- neath each look that she has used them on. The “Uptown Girl” is a look that she has done on Gwyneth Paltrow.

Fringe and flare denim, 2 of my favorite trends happening now – the 70’s revival – I love it!! My all time favorite fashion era is the 70’s hands down! I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I was born in 1973 or just because of the laid back and effortless vibes 70’s fashion exudes, whatever the reason, all I know is I LOVE 70’s fashion! This fringe cardigan is a favorite piece of mine that I picked up at one of my dearest friend’s amazing boutique – Livi Lane. You can like Livi Lane’s Facebook page here:
This incredibly chic boutique is actually in the back of Laura’s gorgeous house in Castle Hills which is in Lewisville. Her boutique is filled with fabulous tops, chic maxi dresses, fun jewelry and scarves, and much more – and the best part is everything is VERY reasonably priced! This fringe cardigan I’m wearing was under $50!! If you don’t have time to drive out to her boutique you can follow Livi Lane on Facebook and send her a message if anything on her page interests you and she will be happy to ship it to you!
Have a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for stopping today!!
One of my favorite looks to create is a monochrome look – wearing variations of the same color or 2 similar colors. In this case pale gray and white. The reason monochrome looks work is because they have a slimming effect – wearing similar colors elongates your legs and torso and makes you appear taller. Another trick to make your legs look longer is to cuff your jeans so they sit right above your ankle bone. The one spot on every women’s body that is slim are her ankles – so roll your jeans up and throw on your favorite pair of heels and voila – a chic look that will you make you appear taller and thinner!
