FALL’S TOP 10 TRENDS:
I have provided several options below each item at different price points – Happy Shopping!
1.) Sheath Dress – I love this silhouette because it’s so flattering! And I love the versatility of it as well. You can throw a moto jacket over it and pair it with an edgy ankle boot or with a simple black blazer and pumps for a more classic look. It’s the dress of the season!
2.) Pencil Skirt – I’m going to New York Fashion Week in a few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited! I purchased this black leather pencil skirt to wear in NYC. I love it for 2 reasons – one because I love leather and two because of it’s versatility – yes, I use that word alot in my blog – I have said this before and I’m sure I will say it again…VERSATILITY is something you should always look for before purchasing anything. Can you style it multiple ways and pair it with multiple things in your closet? If the answer is “Yes” then I say purchase the item. I’m going to pair my leather skirt with a red plaid shirt (the one in the post) and some black pumps during Fashion Week. I also love it paired with a simple white tank and a jean jacket for a more casual vibe, or dress it up a bit by pairing it with a silk blouse and ankle strap heels. A must have this fall for sure!
3.) Plaid – Anything plaid…plaid is huge this fall! I love the easy, effortless look of a plaid shirt, slightly over-sized and worn loose with just the front tucked into a pair of skinny jeans is a chic weekend look that’s super easy to pull off. If you want to dress it up a bit, pair it with a leather skirt and some killer heels.
4.) Gold Jewelry – Gold is the color for jewels this season, and the more layered the better so pile it on. Here is the key – make sure it’s more on the dainty side so that when you layer it, it doesn’t look like too much. I love the this new line of jewelry Nordstrom started to carry – Gorjana – it’s super chic and affordable.
5.) Pop of Red – Red is hot this season and my favorite way to wear red since it’s such a bold color is in small doses…just a pop. So wearing an all black ensemble – whether it be a black sheath dress and moto jacket or a pair of black skinny jeans and a silk top by adding some red heels or a red clutch to these looks really takes your ensemble to the next level. Try having some extra fun with your wardrobe this fall and add a pop of red!
6.) Moto Chic – Yes, the moto jacket has been in for a while and it’s here to stay. Talk about VERSATILE…AGAIN…I know. But, this is a very versatile piece and for sure a “must have” for fall. It would look amazing over a sheath dress or paired with a pair of jeans and simple tank. It can really add that extra edge to any look – my personal favorite!
7.) Animal Print – This has been in for a while as well and we are seeing it again this fall. I have an amazing Clare Vivier leopard clutch that I purchased about a year ago…I have carried it so many times to so many places and it’s coming with me to fashion week as well! I highly recommend adding a leopard clutch to your wardrobe. I normally don’t mix prints, but at the moment I am loving mixing a little leopard with a little plaid – so chic!
8.) The Ankle Bootie – Ankle booties are fabulous because they are so much more comfortable than the traditional heel and they add a bit of edge to any outfit which I love. They look amazing paired with the sheath dress, pencil skirt, and of course they always look effortless and stylish with jeans – boyfriend jeans or skinny jeans. If you are going to be doing a lot of walking an ankle boot is a great way to look chic and yet be comfortable at the same time. I’ll be taking some with me to NY fashion week!
9.) The Gray/Black Jean – I love denim as you can probably tell, most of my outfit posts are done in denim. I love jeans because they can easily be dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. This particular wash is sort of a cross between gray and black – and a bit faded and slightly distressed which I adore! They are the perfect combo of edgy and chic in my opinion. This fall grays are big so this color denim is perfect and can be paired with so many of falls colors. -I would pair these jeans with the gray sweater above, the black moto jacket layered over that, the red heel and leopard clutch – a killer look!
10.) The Chunky Knit – I know it’s hard to think about sweaters when it’s 100 degrees out, but I promise it will be getting cooler soon! I chose the sleeveless version because it’s a bit different and can be easily layered by throwing on a moto jacket or blazer paired with some gray jeans or a leather pencil skirt. So many options and so cozy and comfy!
Thanks so much for reading my blog! Have a great day! XOXO!!
