Focus Magazine is an LA based lifestyle magazine that is powered by their community. I was so honored and excited to be featured in their October issue under the Blog Spotlight page. I wrote a little bit about why I started my blog and what it means to me to be a Mom, a woman over 40, and how I love inspiring my readers one outfit at a time!
Jumpsuits are still in, and I’ll have to say that I’m a big fan of the jumpsuit! They are a bit easier to style since they are only one piece, you don’t have to worry about what to pair with them, just focus on your accessories – a killer heel and printed clutch should do the trick every time. They’re also a great transition piece into fall because you can wear it alone now while the temps are still warm and then as it starts to get cooler throw a moto jacket or jean jacket over for a different look. Greens are huge this season so this jumpsuit is right on trend with the fall hues. It would be perfect for a date night or a girl’s night out – I’m wearing mine this Friday night for a fun lingerie bridal shower that I’m hosting at my house.
Thanks so much for reading my blog! Have a great week! XOXO!
I love when amazing designers do collaborations with certain stores to offer their line to all of us at a more affordable price. The Altuzarra line for Target is absolutely fabulous! I went to Target today and tried on about 7 of my favorite pieces from the line – I bought 5 of the 7 pieces. The quality is great and the clothing fit really well. My favorite piece from the line is the black satin blazer – such a slim cut – looks so chic paired with a pair of dark skinny jeans and the black lace cami from their line underneath. I also really love the snake skinprint silk blouse , I would leave it un-tied and tuck the front portion of it in and pair it with black leather pants or jeans or a black pencil skirt – a perfect outfit for church or a luncheon. I also bought the snakeskin pencilskirt – this looks perfect paired with their black blazer and lace cami and their ankle strap black heels. The red velvet blazer is to die for!!!! It is only available in store, however. It would look so chic paired with a pair of dark jeans and the black lace cami – perfect for a date night or a holiday party! If you have been looking for the perfect faux fur coat, look no further – this black one from their line is amazing – so versatile and perfect for fall and winter!
Tom Ford Lip Stick in Bruised Plum When you find a perfect accessory that you’re really excited about the key is to put a look together that really makes that piece stand out. I wanted to show off my gold heels and camo clutch so my all black ensemble was the perfect canvas to achieve this. I think that’s important when you are wearing all black – make sure you have at least one accessory that stands out.
What an amazing experience we had at New York Fashion week!! So many wonderful fashion shows with tons of inspiration and street style that could keep you entertained all day long. I attended the Tibi show and the Tess Giberson show. They were show casing their spring lines for 2015 – Some of the trends I noticed were tons of over-sized silhouettes, lots of beautiful white and ivory mixed together, strapless and off the shoulder pieces, longer hem lines on skirts and shorter hem-lines on pants just to name a few. So much energy at these shows – I always walk away with such a high!
We also attended an Elaine Turner party that was held at her store on Madison Ave. – what a gorgeous store! We actually met Elaine and she was such a sweet person! For those of you who haven’t heard of Elaine Turner – her collection consists of handbags, shoes and jewelry – beautiful and high quality pieces at a great price point. You can check out her website by clicking here: Elaine Turner. She is going to open a store in Dallas in the next few months and I can’t wait!
We went to the French Connection party with lots of other Dallas Bloggers and had a blast. I adore their line of clothing – great price point and very edgy and chic as well! There is something at this store for every event you might have – dressy or casual – skirts, dresses, denim, sequins, jackets, leather – you name it, they have it. Check out their website here: French Connection
On Saturday, Cathy and I got our make up done at Bergdorf Goodman – the perfect thing to do before the fashion shows and the Reward Style roof top party. I thought I would try out Tom Ford and I’m so happy that I did. The girl that did my make up was amazing!! She used lots of deep plums and burgundies on my eyes – bronzer and pale pink blush with a deep burgundy lip color called Bruised Plum – my all time favorite lip color for fall. Here are the four products that I was really wowed by and actually purchased:
I have worn a ton of different brands of make up such as Nars, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Laura Mercier, and so on….I will say that now that I’ve tried Tom Ford I’m a huge fan and here’s why – the colors are very potent and rich so you don’t need to use much which means it will last longer. Also, it stays on extremely well – by the end of the day on Saturday after walking, walking and more walking, sweating a bit, riding in dirty cabs, my make up was still on and looked good by the time I got back to my room at midnight!
It was an experience I’ll remember forever – I hope to go back next fall! Thanks so much for reading my blog – Have a great week!! XOXO!!

Thank you to Exhale Spa and Tanya Foster for organizing this event! What a treat to be able to enjoy a fabulous relaxing day filled with a chill yoga class and a wonderful facial. We also ate a delicious lunch at the Knife Restaurant . If you are looking for a place to do yoga, whether it be power yoga or relaxing yoga this is the place to be! They also offer a wide variety of spa services such as facials and messages, manis and pedis too. Go to the Exhale Spa website to get the full low down on what they offer and how you can join. I’m able to offer my readers a discount – instead of $195 the current monthly cost would be $125 – what a deal!
Have a great rest of your week! Thanks so much for reading my blog! XOXO!
I wanted to create another look in my jean jacket to show off it’s versatility. I really love it paired with leather…whether it’s pair of leather pants or pencil skirt I just love the look of distressed denim and leather together. I will be wearing a similar look to New York Fashion Week, I leave this Thursday and I can’t wait! I’m going with my sweet fellow blogger friend Cathy Williamson of the-middlepage.com . We will be doing many posts of what we’re wearing while we’re in New York via Instagram so be sure you are following me on Instagram. Here’s the link to follow me on Instagram:

I don’t own that many flats besides flip-flops, but I am a big fan of the espadrille. It’s the perfect summer shoe! I adore them paired with jeans and a simple white tee or a pair of chic cut-offs and a blazer – there are so many options because they are so versatile. If you are traveling or going to be doing a ton of walking these are a great shoe to have to be comfortable yet still look chic and stylish. I have provided several of my favorite espadrilles in the “SHOP THE POST” below.
